Yoga Basics Against the Wall

I love practicing yoga outside and I love practicing yoga using the support of a wall. So in this video I did both!!!!

Using the wall allows us to focus on our posture and alignment. It also helps with poses which require balance.

We are going to start with standing positions and finish lying down on the floor.

Kundalini Yoga Kriya to Master Your Domain

Get ready to master your domain!

This short kriya will fire you up from the bottom to the top.

We have all this space around us. This space holds energy.

Through learning to master our domain we can pull this energy into our bodies, reviving us and filing us with life, vigor and love.
All you will need is a mat, and a block. You can do all these moves for 2 to 3 minutes if you so choose.

Yoga for Tight Neck and Shoulders

Namaste yogis and yoginis!

I’m suffering from a serous case of neck and shoulder stiffness today.

Today’s practice is a little on the selfish side for me however roundness of the shoulders is so common.

Not only will this practice help with that but it will lengthen and release the neck, shoulder and chest muscle.

Have a strap, bolster and brick ready to go. Most of all, enjoy the much needed time for yourself.

Yoga to Open the Solar Plexus Chakra

In today’s practice we’ll be opening our third chakra – the solar plexus – which is located between the navel, and just below the chest.

It’s yellow in colour and it governs any issues dealing with action, determination and confidence.

In Sanskrit this chakra is known as Manipura – The River of 7 Jewels.

Well be focusing on our core and mid back. Planks, downward facing dogs and breathing of fire.
Make sure you drink lots of water when you need to and have fun!!!!!

Gentle Yoga For Your Knees

In today’s practice we’ll be focusing on our knee joint.

I find that the most common restrictions we experience while searching is our spine, hips or knees.

In this video I’ll be showing ways to protect the knees during our yoga practice.

Quick Hatha Yoga On The Floor

In this practice we’ll be doing an entire Hatha yoga class on the floor so no standing poses! The highest you will be off the floor is a downward facing dog.

All you will need is a matt, bolster or pillow and your beautiful self, I hope you enjoy!

It’s short and sweet but you will still get a full body energizer.

Evening Yin Yoga to Help With Sleep

Get ready to melt into each delicious position in this relaxing and healing yin yoga session for better sleep.

We’ll be holding each pose for 2 to 3 minutes so make sure you find your sweet spot and don’t push yourself too far.

Sofa Yoga

Namaste yogis and yoginis!

The day I shot this video I was having a lazy Sunday, so I though “why not do some yoga on the sofa”!

We’ll be stretching our whole body. we start seated on the couch, then lying down on the couch and using straps, getting down on the floor with our legs up on the sofa and finishing with a lovely savanna. Have a strap, pillow and bolster ready.

This practice is great for anyone with an injury, cold, or perhaps you’re just feeling lazy…and there’s nothing wrong with that!

Kundalini Breath of Fire for Detoxification

Namaste yogis and yoginis!

With Spring coming our way, I figured we would do a Kunalini yoga breath of fire for detoxification session.

It’s short but intense especially with all the breath of fire we’ll be using to energize, clean our blood stream, strengthen our core and improve our overall state of mind.

Remember to stay hydrated by drinking lots of water and if you start to get dizzy, or fee uncomfortable, then please use deep breathing or just stop altogether. Breath of fire takes a long time to get used to.

Be patient with yourself and just keep at it. Yoga, whether Kunalini, Yin, Hatha or Vinyasa is meant to make you feel good. 🙂

Yoga For Your Back

Namaste yogis and yoginis!

In this yoga session we’ll be focusing on spinal strength, flexibility and mobility.

Our spine assists with bends, twists, folds and our ability to lift heavy objects.

It’s sepaerated into four basic regions:

7 cervical vertebra (neck)

12 thoracic vertebrae (upper & mid back)

5 lumber vertebra (low back)

Sacrum (lower back and tailbone)

Yogis like to say that spinal flexibility is the gateway to youth and vitality.

In this half hour class I will show you forward folds, spinal twists, back bends and fluid spinal movement.
